A tow is an untwisted bundle of continuous filaments. The standard extruded Thunderon® Tow is an acrylic based host fiber, bonded together with an outer conductive layer of copper that surrounds the host fiber. The copper forms a bond with the acrylic host fiber, and unlike metal plated or carbon compound fibers, the fibers do not flake off.
Thunderon® Tow offers much better abrasion resistance and it does not break easily like fine diameter stainless steel fiber. Thunderon® Tow is triangular shaped, which further enhances its conductivity.
Seven Filament/Tow products are available comprising a choice of three different fill material, Thunderon®, Thunderon®/Goat Hair, and Thunderon®/Horsehair. One can also choose from six different cut lengths.
The Filament/Tow line is sold by the "Bundle" if it's less 35.4". A Filament/Tow of 35.4" is sold as a "Hank".
The Filament/Tow material is mainly used in the making of finished brushes.
